History
I started "Jafro Music Projects" back in February 2012 as a means of showcasing my projects from college and my various early experiments at writing and recording my own music. My project has since grown to encompass many different genres and styles ranging from various styles of rock, to industrial music, modern synthwave and darkwave, funk, jazz, and more.
I have been playing guitar since 2006 (as well as bass since 2014) and recording/producing music since 2011, having been studying the subject of Music and Music Technology since secondary school. I've had stints with a number of bands over the years, playing in a band from my first year of university who would go on to be signed to my future employers at Phoenixx Records, called "Torpedo" as a guitarist.
In 2018, I graduated from Staffordshire University with a Bachelor's, and a Master's Degree in Music Technology, where over the course of my undergraduate and postgraduate study I was able to showcase my work as a songwriter and producer, both on my own projects, and my work Phoenixx Records and OMG Radio. In addition to this I also worked as Staffordshire University Student's Unions sound and lighting technician, working with a number of local DJ's and bands as well as famous faces like Tynchy Stryder, and The Chuckle Brothers.
Recent Work
Since leaving university, I've been releasing new original music on a regular basis, putting out new music on a monthly basis for the last few years in a various range of genres. I've combined this with live-streaming over on Twitch where go through the full writing, recording and production process live on stream while I interact with the chat. I've found this to be really enjoyable and a novel way of showing people what I can do! The finished tracks from these streams go straight up on to SoundCloud when they're finished, with the official releases these days my selected favourite tracks. The VOD's and highlights from my streams are also posted onto my YouTube channel.
I've collaborated on various tracks and release with various musician friends of mine including writing and mixing parts for Ben Smith's 2020 EP: "Summer's Here". On top of this I'm also posting videos of my guitar playing on Instagram, and the other main social media platforms as well as stream clips, and other general music work I do.
